Residential Juvenile Probation Officer

*RESIDENTIAL JUVENILE PROBATION OFFICER* The Residential Juvenile Probation Officer collaborates as part of a team to oversee and supervise an assigned caseload of juvenile residents.
RJPO performs case management related duties, prepares monthly behavior reports and ensures resident receives individual and family counseling sessions.
Maintain regular contact with the resident’s parent/guardian, placing county, counselor and education department for monthly behavior and cognitive therapy assessment.
Conducts group counseling sessions to include cognitive behavioral therapy curriculum and prepares written reports for court as required.
Maintain resident’s file to ensure court orders and other pertinent documents are maintained as required under Texas Administrative Code.
Workspace is located in the secure area of the Victoria Regional Juvenile Justice Center.
Salary Range: $24.
05 - $26.

based on experience To be eligible for employment as a Residential Juvenile Probation Officer, a person must; · Must be at least 21 years of age and meet eligibility requirements to become certified as a Juvenile Probation Officer within the first 180 days from the date of hire · Meet TJJD criminal background requirements and pass the state child registry check.
· Have acquired a Bachelor’s degree by an accredited college or university.
Degree preference in criminal justice, corrections, social work, psychology or field of instruction approved by TJJD.
_One year experience in counseling, social service, corrections or within a juvenile setting preferred but not required.
