Social Emotional Behavioral Support Specialist
Contract Days: 193
Pay Grade: Administrative Instructional - 3
Primary Purpose:
Develop the student as a person through campus wide PBIS implementation and social emotional learning instruction.
Improve social, and emotional competencies of staff and students.
Provide modeling, coaching, and technical assistance to campus staff regarding social, emotional, and behavioral strategies.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Master's Degree in education, psychology, social work, counseling or related field (preferred)
Bachelor's degree and experience may be substituted for Master's degree.
Valid Texas Teaching Certificate or a valid professional license to practice in the State of Texas
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of varied behavior management strategies, de-escalation techniques
Exhibit positive and collaborative relationship with parents, administrators and teachers
Consistent record of implementing best practices in emotional/behavioral-related issues
Knowledge and application of counseling, coaching and/or mentoring techniques
Knowledge of appropriate interventions for students with severe emotional and behavioral needs
Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Experience:
Working with individuals struggling in the areas of social, emotional and/or behavioral skill development.
Working with families and the community preferred.
Providing group professional development and/or individual technical assistance.
