Job Summary Eagle Ford Overview The liquids-rich Eagle Ford tight oil trend, located in the Western Gulf Coast Basin of South Texas, represents the company’s second-most prolific unconventional resource development.
ConocoPhillips was one of the first companies into the liquids play, resulting in a low-cost entry into this acreage.
In 2009, the company began exploring the development potential of this play and by year-end 2022 held approximately 199,000 net leasehold and mineral acres, primarily in DeWitt, Karnes, and Live Oak counties.
During 2022, 153 operated wells were brought online, bringing total wells online at year-end to more than 1,700.
Net production in 2022 averaged 220 MBOED.
Description The Facilities Engineer will report to the Eagle Ford Base Facilities Engineering Supervisor.
The Facilities Engineer is accountable for day-to-day troubleshooting and engineering support of the Operations Group.
The base engineering team has oversight of existing well facilities, central facilities, central delivery points, stabilizer plants, and commercial takeaway.
The Facilities Engineer will collaborate with representatives of other departments and disciplines to frame and advance innovative ideas/opportunities, troubleshoot operational issues, and develop valuable solutions.
The Facilities Engineer will support the development and consistent implementation of engineering and construction standards in the delivery of small to mid-size “Base” facility projects (e.
g.
, Facility Debottlenecking, Artificial Lift Conversions, GHG Reduction Technology, Operation/Maintenance Upgrades), from initial concept through commissioning/start-up.
Job Description Responsibilities may include: Coordinate with Project Engineers, Production Operations, Maintenance, Environmental, Regulatory, HSE, Planning & Scheduling, Surface Projects, Right of Way, Supply Chain, Drafting, and Third-party Engineering to successfully develop and execute facility infrastructure plans in a changing environment Show demonstrated commitment to and understanding of ConocoPhillips' L48 HSE Management System and HSE requirements Provide troubleshooting and optimization support to operations/maintenance to resolve day-to-day issues Collaborate to design and implement engineering solutions that drive continuous improvement Develop scope of work definition, preliminary and detailed design, BOM, cost estimate, equipment selection, procurement, and construction cost control for Base Facility Projects Provide creative project options to meet critical schedule constraints or cost requirements Participate in Risk Assessment Evaluations and Process Hazard Analysis Coordinate with Project Designers/Drafters in the creation/modification of PFDs, P&IDs, Isometrics, Plot Plans, 3D Models, and other design documentation Abide by and support the Management of Change (MOC) Process, including participation in Pre-Start-up Safety Reviews (PSSRs) to align with the HSE Management System Lead efforts to ensure modifications, designs, and construction standards for equipment are fully understood and effectively managed through the Management of Change (MOC) Process Monitor and report progress of Base Facility Projects and track/reconcile actual and forecast project costs Support Project Teams, Maintenance and Operations in the execution, commissioning, and start-up of facility upgrades/modifications Lead and develop programs and standards to support the maintenance of equipment in process facilities for Production Operations and Preventative Maintenance Departments within the Business Unit Support the management of the mechanical integrity programs working with the Asset Integrity group Interpret and apply Corporate, L48 & Industry Engineering Standards, Specifications, and Code Requirements Provide direct and impartial feedback on the compliance of Business Unit Facilities with Industry Code Requirements to management Demonstrate strong SPIRIT values and be recognized as a technical specialist for the Business Unit Basic/Required: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer Current/Valid Driver’s License Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or foreign equivalent 3+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry 3+ years of experience in design, construction, or operation of oil and gas facilities in the United States Preferred: 5+ years of oil and gas experience 5+ years of experience in the design/construction/management of small and large Oil & Gas Production/Processing Facilities, Pipelines and/or Compression Knowledge of Technical Standards (API, ASME, ASTM, NEC, etc.
