Transportation Specialist
Provides safe transportation for individual clients in vans provided by Post Acute Medical.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
This is a non-exempt position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensures that all transportation policies and procedures are followed as published.
• Supervises and/or assists all passengers according to transportation policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates consistent ability to operate all motor vehicles safely.
• Operates wheelchair lift as designed.
• Secures wheelchair and patient to ensure safety.
• Observes safety practices in all situations.
• Implements appropriate emergency procedures as indicated.
• Maintains vehicle cleanliness, inside and outside.
• Notifies supervisor when repairs and maintenance services might be needed.
• Completes daily, monthly, and annual inspections.
• Completes scheduling of transportation requests and coordinates with the scheduling department.
• Safely transports clients to and from scheduled appointments while managing them safely in the community.
• Delivers deposits to the bank; makes various other deliveries and runs errands as requested by supervisor
• Maintains a current license as required by state law.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Training: Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent and completion of driver education course from an accredited curriculum.
Valid State Driver’s License.
Post Acute Medical follows the DMV laws of each state and that each person is responsible and required to abide by the local law.
(Class D license required in Louisiana.
) Current CPR certificate.
Experience: Must be at least 21 years old (per insurance coverage requirement).
Completion of defensive driving school within last 2 years preferred

• Minimal clerical ability required.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in the State of Texas.
