Texas Rural Student Transportation School Bus Driver Job Description Job Summary: The School Bus Driver will transport students by bus on regularly scheduled bus routes and misc.
trips throughout the district.
Reports to: Manager of District Transportation Supervisory Respons ibi l i t ies : * None.
Duties/Respons ibi l i t ies : * Follows a planned bus route, making scheduled stops to pick up or drop off passengers.
* Answers questions about the bus route.
* Communicates with the dispatcher via two-way radio during the route; provides updates to the dispatcher and reports emergencies, traffic patterns, or accidents.
* Assists passengers on and off the bus when help is needed.
* Visually inspects the bus before beginning the day’s assigned route.
* Reports any mechanical issues with the bus such as brakes, steering, or other issues.
* Prepares an observation report when shift is finished.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Sk i l ls /Abi l i t ies : * Ability to operate a bus safely.
* Extensive knowledge of motor vehicle laws.
* Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
* Knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
* Excellent time management skills.
Educa t ion a nd Experience: * Must be 21 years of age.
* Must have a valid class b commercial driver’s license with passenger and school bus endorsements.
Phys ica l Requirements: * Must pass a drug screening and physical exam.
* Prolonged periods of operating the bus.
* Must be able to assist passengers when needed.
Job Types: Part-time, Full-time Pay: $18.
00 - $22.
