Job Descriptions: Assistant Manager
Position Summary
The primary responsibility of the assistant manager is the effective running of the store on a daily basis.
Assistant Managers are responsible for ensuring that associates provide exceptional customer service, while achieving sales goals and helping the Store Manager maximize sales, profitability, and expenses.
Major Responsibilities
The major responsibilities for this position include:

Provide input into merchandising decisions to the store manager
Implement the marketing strategy for the current year
Resolve customer and employee complaints in a timely and satisfactory manner
Lead associate team to accomplish store goals
Manage the WOW and Customer Engagement programs
Be proficient in all store technology (i.
e.
, ACENET, POS system, Epicor Eagle for Windows)
Responsible for ensuring the store is recovered and ready for business every day
Maintain the weekly work schedule
Maintain record keeping accurately
Ensure that open/close procedures are followed
Ensure all rental equipment is properly maintained
Ensure all Service and Repair for Screens, Stihl, and Hustler are completed in a timely manner
Ensure that all daily inventory management tasks are completed; Stocked, Zero/outs, Negative QOH, Special orders, Cycle counting, Mangos.
Make sure that the sales floor is clear, organized and properly signed, and that the receiving floor is clear of pallets and trash
Responsible for training all associates on store policies and procedures
Delegate daily workload among associates
Enforces safety policies and procedures; as a safety role model
Minimum Requirements
The minimum requirements for this position include:
Education/Training: High School degree or G.
E.
D.
equivalent, some college preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years retail management experience.
Skills/Knowledge: Strong leadership and analytical skills.
Possess a vast product knowledge of hardware related products along with a willingness to learn.
Excellent customer service skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations.
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
Ability to lead and develop others
Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks with a high attention to detail
Knowledge of retail computer systems, MS Word and Excel.
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business and our customers.
Physical Requirements
The minimum physical requirements for this position include:
Move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures occasionally throughout the store, which entails lifting, climbing ladders and performs all functions as set forth by management.
Ability to perform prolonged standing (up to 11-12 hours a day), walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, pulling, lifting and carrying up to 80lbs.

Training will take place in either - Port Lavaca/Bay City/or Rockport.
