Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.
This position exists in order to optimize the utilization of physical assets and technological resources to manufacture the highest quality products in the most efficient and effective manner, reduce costs and increase operating profit.
Process engineers increase productivity and add value by integrating technology.

Operations Support- Understand industry movement and Best Industry Practice - The Process Engineer must benchmark the unit's performance and functions with that in the industry and determine the Best Industry Practice.
Understand and review current operating conditions - The Process Engineer must review all current conditions and understand where opportunities exist for improvements.
Staying knowledgeable in the industry by attending conferences, taking training, and staying abreast of industry changes in publications.
Process Improvement - Study and recommend improvement projects, on a priority basis, to ensure that all areas of the operational objectives and concerns are met, as well as improving the plant's process to meet the Best Industry Practice.
Project Management - Develop professional and detailed B-1’s, furnish process design, assist in design, permitting, and construction, coordinate pre-startup and startup activities, and close the project.
PSM - Assist with elements of process safety and projects such as MOCs, PSI updates, and P&ID modifications.
Maintenance Performance - Successful Maintenance performance will result in a reduction of unscheduled work and toward achieving 100% planned and scheduled maintenance activities.
This includes communicating and working with maintenance continuously to establish equipment criticality and to schedule and prepare for the maintenance activities.
Cost Control - Manage both variable cost and fixed cost within the unit's budget.
Previous Related Experience Required: No prior experience is required but having 1 or more years of experience is preferred.
Technical Skills Required to Perform This Job: Personal computer skills and applicable software Good interpersonal and communication skills Good business writing ability Knowledge of Thermodynamics, Energy & material balance, Unit Operations, heat/mass transfer, fluid statics and Dynamics, kinetics, engineering economies.
