Caterpillar is seeking a Maintenance Manager in Victoria, TX.
In this role, you will oversee maintenance and repairs of process equipment, as well as electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), carpentry, painting, and other building systems support.
Primary function is support of OEM driven preventive maintenance activities to support plant production goals.
What you can look forward to doing in this role: Report directly to the Facilities Engineering Manager.
Direct reports are, Various Maintenance Technicians, and PM Contract Service Teams.
Responsible for forecasting and supporting all Preventive Maintenance driven activities to support site production low-cost solution goals.
Have broad knowledge in TPM Principles, Maintenance Planning and Material Requirements Planning.
Have product knowledge of sufficient detail to make priority decisions, and to integrate material from in house rework, outside vendors, and TMO to meet production needs.
Understand the Facility workflow to recognize the impact of material shortages.
Must possess leadership qualities, be an excellent motivator, communicator, and agent of change.
Must maintain close communication and coordination with the other Groups though out facility to support Production and Maintenance indirect needs.
Assure a safe work environment for all employees.
Provide direction to the materials staff by establishing goals and a work agenda that support the company’s Core Business Principles and Critical Success Factors.
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department.
Evaluate systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.
Assess building systems to plan work assignments and project schedules.
Develop maintenance procedures and schedules.
Ensure maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
Assist with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills and have: A working knowledge of Planning: Tactical, Strategic : Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
Extensive experience with Manufacturing Preventive Maintenance : Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and its functioning; ability to conduct Preventive Maintenance at scheduled intervals to determine equipment's corrective actions and avoid untimely breakdowns.
A working knowledge of Project Management : Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
An understanding of Factory Infrastructure , including high-voltage electrical distribution and associated equipment, plant air compression, shot blasting, welding and painting robotics, assembly line conveyors, floor mounted and overhead bridge cranes, general Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Top Candidates for this position may also have: 5 or more years of job-related experience in process and facilities maintenance Advanced MS Excel and MS Word A minimum of 5 years supervisory experience Previous building management experience as well as experience using SAP systems Microsoft Project Management experience Lean / Kaizen experience preferred Additional Information: The primary location for this position is Victoria, TX.
