Journeyman Carpenter
Location: Point Comfort, TX, 77978
Job Summary
The Journeyman Carpenter will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard using hand and power tools.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of carpentry techniques and safety procedures, as well as the ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
Key Responsibilities
Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge.
Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.
Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, frames, floorings, and trim, using carpenter's hand and power tools.
Verify trueness of structure, using plumb bob and level.
Study specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.
Build or repair cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, carpenter's hand tools, or power tools.
Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
Qualifications
Journeyman Carpenter certification or equivalent experience.
Strong understanding of carpentry techniques and safety procedures.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
Experience with hand and power tools.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Job Details:
Per diem if eligible.
3 month duration.
50-60 hours a week.
$30-$32 per hour depending on experience.
