Reads and interprets blueprints, layout plans, vendor installation and operation manuals, and other schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
Dismantles machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars and other hand tools.
Moves machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks.
Assembles and installs equipment, such as shaffing, conveyors and tram rails, using cranes, hand tools and power tools.
Constructs foundation for machines using hand tools and building materials, such as wood, cement and steel.
Aligns machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers and plumb bobs.
Must have knowledge of optical and laser alignments.
Assembles machines and bolts, welds, rivets or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures using hand tools and power tools.
May operate engine lathe to grind, file and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications.
May install robot and modify its program using teach pendant.
May use transit and level for equipment setting.
Loads, transports and unloads materials, tools, equipment and supplies.
Performs lubricating maintenance, cleaning activities, or repair of tools, machines, and equipment.
Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules.
Performs other duties as required.
Use effective verbal and written communication skills.
Be capable of listening and communicating with other supervision and employees.
Be motivated and work safely and productively.
Understand and respond accordingly to all safety alerts, warnings, hazards, etc.
Journeyman - Typically 3 years and above documented field experience in chosen craft discipline with ability to read and interpret instructions and document, plan and perform work activities independently.
May be required to lift and carry items weighing no more than 50 pounds.
Must possess enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above.
Must be able to move in and around confined and uneven areas.
Must have full range of motion consistent with age.
May be required consistently to work 12 hour shifts performing construction based labor in varying temperature extremes and conditions.
May be required, on occasion, to work up to 16 hours in a single shift.
Must be able to climb and maintain balance on stairs, ladders, scaffolds and steel framework.
Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms, and other job related noises.
Visual acuity, depth perception and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces.
