General Purpose:
Operates Pneumatic Scale Filler, Silgan Capper, Video Jet Coder and performs all related functions.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Adjusts Filling machine with proper fill weight for product.
Reports quality and operational issues to management as they occur and submits work orders.
Checks accuracy of container coding for product being filled.
Completes all required paperwork accurately and legibly.
Monitors chart recorders and makes adjustments when necessary.
Performs metal detector verification tests.
Ensures fill detection equipment is functioning prior to startup and tests regularly during a production run.
Assists Check Weight Operator to supply capper.
Isolates product that deviates from standards and reports to management.
Monitors Rinser temperature, spray pattern, and clears jams.
Follows filed operating process at all times.
Utilize scanners or thin client units to make SAP transaction for the purpose of maintain accurate inventory levels and ensuring reliable product traceability.
Obtains all necessary samples of product in a timely manner.
Performs CIP/COP sanitizing utilizing procedures and methods.
Handles cleaning chemicals in a safe manner utilizing safety equipment such as gloves, eyewear, etc.
Examines final package for any defects, i.
e.
glass, cap, code, etc.
Follows all DFA Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate, regulatory quality, and sanitation requirements.
Performs items on Master Sanitation lists when production is not running.
Maintain sanitary equipment conditions during production.
Maintain safe environment and perform other duties in a safe manner at all times.
Ability to function in a team based structure and positively contributes to team based efforts.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
