Pay Grade: Classified Level 8 Salary: $20.
09-$28.
33 Primary Purpose: Install, repair and maintain heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HV AC) and equipment throughout the district.
Maintain and provide the safe condition and operation of all systems in district facilities.
Qualifications: Education/Certification: High School Diploma or GED Valid Texas Driver's license Texas Refrigerant & Equipment Certification Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HV AC) installation, repair and maintenance techniques Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics and written reference material Ability to perform mathematical calculations Ability to diagnose and resolve problems Ability to fabricate, assemble and install duct work Ability to use hand and power tools Experience: Five years' experience in HV AC field Two years' supervisory experience Major Responsibilities and Duties: Facility Construction, Repair & Maintenance: 1.
Diagnose and repair malfunctions in various types of heating and air conditioning systems, including rooftop equipment.
2.
Install new heating and air conditioning systems and components.
3.
Relocate and expand existing HVAC systems as needed.
4.
Receive and complete work orders.
5.
Select material and hardware and make time and materials estimates.
6.
Maintain accurate records on material and labor used.
7.
Maintain inventory of district-owned tools, equipment and materials.
8.
Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean.
9.
Work with building principals and supervisors to complete projects.
10.
Detect needed repairs on equipment following established inspection procedures.
11.
Respond to emergency calls as needed.
Safety 12.
Perform preventive maintenance on tools and maintenance.
13.
Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
14.
Ensure equipment is in safe operating condition.
15.
Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.
16.
Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.
17.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise HV AC helper Equipment Used: Metal shears, metal break, ladder, hoist, hand and power tools.
Light truck or van.
Work Conditions: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Working Conditions Continuous walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, carrying and heavy lifting; work in tiring and uncomfortable positions, outside and inside; exposure to extreme temperatures; frequent district wide travel, occasional prolonged and irregular hours; work indoors and outdoors to conduct on-site inspection of all facilities and construction projects; work around machinery with moving parts; work on ladders or scaffolding.
