The Bechtel renewables team will perform project management, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup for utility-scale photovoltaic generating plants throughout various locations in the US.
Position Summary The Deputy Site Superintendent is responsible for the coordination, planning and execution of all construction work performed by Bechtel direct hire craft and subcontractors in accordance with design drawing and details as assigned by the Project Site Superintendent.
The Deputy Site Superintendent will fill in for the Project Site Superintendent in their absence or as directed.
This position will start on a short-term assignment at an existing location.
In addition to meeting all the Essential Job Duties and Job Knowledge, the ideal candidate should be adaptable and able to relocate to project sites throughout the US.
Responsibilities Supervises and/or directs craft activities as assigned.
Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft.
Performs general functions inherent in all supervisory field positions.
Coordinates established area operational plans.
Coordinates and directs multi-discipline craft activities within a specific areas (inverter blocks) of the project as instructed by Site Superintendent.
Prepares Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the crafts have the tools they require to be productive.
Optimize the use of construction equipment and tools on the project - supervise layout, construction, and maintenance of temporary facilities with the Project Site Superintendent.
Provide constructability reviews providing risk analysis, suggestions, and input to ensure successful delivery and execution.
Ensures the implementation of corporate/project policies, procedures and instructions within assigned operations.
Monitors work activities and ensures the quality of work performed.
Provide leadership for the safety, accident prevention and fire prevention programs which include: safety orientation of new employees, prepare safety procedures and monitor Bechtel and subcontractor safety meetings, inspect the site for unsafe conditions and practice and take appropriate corrective action to correct all observed problems & lead tool box safety meetings.
Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion, coordinates work activities with other supervisors.
Qualifications and Skills Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
In lieu of degree, 10 years of related work experience required.
Minimum 5 years renewable (preferably Solar) EPC experience.
Minimum 2 years prior Field Non-Manual Supervision on medium to large sized EPC projects.
Must have the right to work and remain in the Unites States.
Preferred Qualifications: Utility scale solar project experience >100MW.
Utility scale wind experience >100MW.
Prior large-scale EPC experience Prior Direct Hire / Craft supervision experience.
High geographical mobility with Cross discipline experience.
